Nature and the elements found there are the major inspirations for both the content and design of my pieces. Materials include slate from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Scotland; 24-karat gold leaf embedded between pieces of glass; recycled roof tiles cut into rods and split; Youghiogheny River shale that feathers a deep black color that contrasts well with other materials; Mexican smalti; and Marcellus shale needles.

Sizes of work range from 2″ x 2″ to 11″ x 14″.
