Inspired by the Shenandoah Valley: The Art of Christy Dunkle Mosaics
Based in Clarke County, Virginia since 2001 and creating mosaics since 2021, I explore the dynamic interplay of small spaces and movement through line and color. The beauty of the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where my studio is located, is a constant source of inspiration for my unique mosaic artworks and handcrafted jewelry. You can find my mosaics and jewelry at local and regional Virginia and West Virginia venues. My artistic development has been guided by Scottish mosaicist Rachel Davies and Seattle artist Kelley Knickerbocker. While travel broadens my horizons (with a special fondness for Scotland!), it's the natural beauty of Virginia that I translate into unique mosaic artworks and handcrafted jewelry.
